Dolly Parton, who was born in Locust Ridge Tenn. on the 19th of January. 19. 1946, into a low-income family, with twelve kids later on, realized early that she could escape her hardships through a imaginative mind. Her songs were written before she could write or read. When she got her first guitar at age of eight, she started to play on local radio stations from Knoxville, Tennessee. In the same year, she recorded her first album with Gold Band Records an independent small label. The singer established a name for herself locally while still in high school, however she always dreamed of having a bigger stage. When she was graduating in 1964, she moved to Nashville. Her first charting records for Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated TV show host in the late '60s, was looking for a girl to sing for his program. Parton became a member of Grand Ole Opry 1969 after signing to RCA Records. In 1974, she resigned from Wagoner's Show because the success of her singles like Joshua Coats of Many Colors or Jolene was outstripping their joint releases. Parton composed I Will Always Love You to Wagoner following their split. It made it to No. The song of Parton in 1974."I Will Never Love You peaked at No.
